Lebanon Is Under Attack - More than 30 thousand people displaced

Lebanon is once again experiencing a severe escalation of hostilities, with intensified airstrikes and evacuation warnings issued to 53 villages across South Lebanon, Nabatieh, Beirut, and Bekaa, forcing thousands of families to flee their homes.

As of the 7th of March 2026, as per MOPH:

Families are fleeing their homes with little or nothing. Schools and public buildings are being converted into shelters. Roads remain congested as communities search for safety for the past 48 hours.

Situation in the South

Saida has become one of the primary reception areas for displaced families. As of the 3rd of March:

  • Total number of IDPs currently in Saida: 11,734
  • Total number of collective shelters in Saida: 24

Total in South:

  • Total of Families: 5,293
  • Total of IDP's: 22,093
  • Total of Shelters: 72

DPNA is currently managing one collective shelter hosting 500 displaced individuals and, in full solidarity with municipalities, local authorities, civil society actors, and humanitarian partners, has activated its emergency response to provide:

Shelter Support

  • Safe accommodation within our managed collective shelter
  • Blankets, mattresses, and essential non-food items
  • Winterization support

Food Assistance

  • Food kits
  • DPNA's Community kitchen meals (at least one hot meal per day during Ramadan)

Hygiene and Dignity

  • Hygiene kits
  • Baby necessities

Health and Protection

  • First aid and medical referrals
  • Psychosocial support for children and families
  • Social cohesion activities within collective shelters

Water and Sanitation

  • Clean water provision

Our response prioritizes dignity, safety, and community solidarity.

What We Urgently Need

Needs are growing daily. We urgently require support for:

  • Shelter supplies (blankets, mattresses, pillows)
  • Food and kitchen supplies
  • Hygiene kits
  • Medical supplies
  • Clean water and sanitation materials
  • Fuel for generators
  • Financial contributions to sustain emergency operations and psychosocial support

Every contribution directly supports families who have lost their homes overnight.
